I have just realised the pure joy of tidying, sorting and compiling. And before you start reaching for the OCD medication - there was actually a purpose to today's clean-up: I now have a folder of sources for each remaining thesis chapter so I can easily find and finish them. Yep. And my desk and shelves are free of the paper I have been slowly burying myself in for the past year. Yay!
Today the university library was also kind enough to gift me 20 books they were planning to cull from the collection. 12 volumes concerning assorted aspects of British literature and culture, 1 book on horror film, and old copies of works by Keats, H.G. Wells, Yeats, Racine, Le Fanu, Dante and Bulwer-Lytton. Much excited unpacking and loving attention. The Dante is from 1908 and a few are from the 1920s so lovely cloth covers. Ok I will stop drooling now and attempt to finish my paper on the development of psychological terror in British fiction.
Oh and I hung pictures of humorous cows on my office wall. Just coz.
